Dress Clothes Donation

Students, 8th graders, are being asked to donate 2 clean, decent (no holes or rips) dress code items by Friday, May 29th.  If students donate the items, they will be allowed to dress down, district dress code, for Friday, May 29th.  This is only available to 8th grade students.

Red, White, and Blue Day

Student Council will be hosting a Red, White, and Blue Shirt Day with dress code bottoms on Monday in honor of Memorial Day. We also plan to have an activity during lunch to honor those who lost their lives.

Address Change?

Attention 8^th grade parents- If your address has changed anytime throughout the year, please provide proof of residence (electric bill, gas bill or lease agreement) to Mrs. Hilton in guidance as soon as possible. If we do not have the correct address in our system, your child may not receive their elective choices for 9^th grade. All middle school records will be sent to the zoned high school we have on file based on the current listed address. Please call Kim Hilton at 803-981-1807 if you have any questions.

In the years past we have been able to offer sports physicals at school.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer this service this year.  Please remember that in order for you to try-out or play a school sponsored sport, you must have a sports physical completed and on file.  This has to be done each year.

FREE Medical Clinic (Rock Hill Family Resource Center-Fridays Only-8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)

Services include Well Baby Check-ups, Immunizations, Sick Visits, Sports Physicals, Vision / Hearing screenings, Education and Referrals for children 18 years and younger who do not have medical insurance.

Memorial Day, May 25, will be a bad weather make-up day. The day is designated on the district's master calendar as a make-up day. Students and staff are to attend school this date to make up for the school day missed on February 26.

iTeams Summer Camp

iTEAMS CAMP IS COMING AGAIN!
The South Carolina Governor's School will host the annual
iTEAMS XTREME camp at Saluda Trail this summer JULY 13-16.
There is a cost this summer but full scholarships are available.
We highly recommend this camp for all STMS students!

The Disappearing Frog Project

The Disappearing Frog Project is now on display at the Community Performance Center on East Main Street in downtown Rock Hill. Students researched endangered frogs and created artwork to reflect what they learned. Each grade level used a different process to create their piece. The artwork will be sold to raise funds for the Amphibian Survival Alliance (ASA). The exhibition is open from today until April 25 as part of Come-See-Me. Saluda Trail has 107 pieces of artwork in the exhibit. There will be an opening reception at the Community Performance Center Saturday April 18 beginning at 6:00 pm. Robin Moore a noted Conservation Photographer and author will speak at the reception. Moore's work has appeared in National Geographic as well as many other conservation and wildlife magazines.

Spring Buddy Pictures

Spring Pictures are Thursday, April 23.  There will be two (2) separate order forms sent home for individual pictures and buddy pictures.  Be on the look out for the forms that will be sent home on April 15th!

Way to go Noah and Ryan!  These two guys brought home the district championship trophy today for 8th grade Academic Challenge. 

This School's Got STEM Finalist! Go VOTE!

SC Future Minds announced five finalists today in Comporium's "This School's Got STEM" competition, which attracted two dozen entrants from across the state who showed off the best of science, technology, engineering, and math their schools had to offer.  Congratulations to Jordan Peek for being selected one of the finalists.  Please go vote for his video on edible cars.  You can place a vote once a day until Sunday, March 29th.
